I was delighted to make my TV panellist debut on the Camilla Tominey show at the Conservative Party conference. This year's conference was decidedly upbeat and a chance to catch up with members and discuss ideas.
As a board member and Digital Adviser for the Conservative Rural Forum, we were thrilled with the success of our annual conference reception, with soon to be DEFRA Minister Steve Barclay as our speaker, and I was pleased to recruit him as our newest Parliamentary Patron.
During Conference week, I was honoured to be invited to a roundtable with Save the Children and Andrew Mitchell to discuss foreign aid and the vast impact UK remission payments have. Conference finished with the lunch of the week at the St James's Club, with superb speaker Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho.
Post conference, I was back on the campaign trail and excited to visit Tamworth for the first time, to lend my support to the by-election campaign. It was great, as always, to bump into James Cleverly and DWP Minister Mel Stride. The following week, fellow candidates and I connect called from CCHQ, speaking to voters in Tamworth and Mid Beds ahead of the upcoming elections.
As the by-election was only a week away, I ventured back to Mid Beds; on one occasion getting the chance to meet the Culture Secretary Lucy Fraser, and the second, on election night to drum up support.
I was soon back in London, lending my support to Greg Hands in Chelsea & Fulham, Felicity Buchan in Kensington and our superb GLA candidate Tony Devenish in Hammersmith.
It was brilliant to be back in Hampstead to help the Camden conservatives in the local by-election, a superb opportunity to get to meet Conservative voters in the new Highgate ward.
I was delighted to see the Care Leavers Wanted campaign, which had been unveiled at the Care Leavers Summit I'd attended with Mims Davies a few weeks before. Care leavers noted how the campaign had given them a sense of belonging and highlighted the value they could add to companies looking for great recruits.
