I recently visited a Pharmacy First pharmacy in Brondesbury to discuss the rollout of Pharmacy First.

I was delighted to hear from the pharmacist and local residents using the service, that it had been incredibly helpful and that there was a significant uptake of the initiative.

Pharmacy Fist was launched by the Government in January 2024 and enables pharmacists to treat seven common health conditions without patients needing to see a GP (including impetigo, Infected insect bites, shingles, sinusitis, sore throat and urinary tract infections.

I welcome the Conservative manifesto pledge to expand Pharmacy First, including for: menopause support, contraception and treatment for chest infections, freeing up 20 million GP appointments a year.
