Jamila Robertson stood in the 2024 General Election as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Brent East.
Jamila Robertson is an entrepreneur, mentor and school Governor.
She created the Slapp makeup app in 2016, where with just a selfie you could instantly find the right makeup, wherever you lived and whenever you wanted. The app has been featured in the Daily Mail, Guardian and Elle Magazine.
Jamila speaks in schools and colleges up and down the country, inspiring young people to become entrepreneurs, go into STEM and to take up work experience.
As a school Governor in two local primary schools, Jamila is focused on the curriculum, and ensuring young people have access to networks and a range of career possibilities.
During the pandemic, Jamila offered eight under 24 year olds work experience in her business via the Kickstart scheme, in order to give them their first steps into the workplace and the confidence that had been dented by the pandemic.
She is a passionate advocate for upskilling those on Universal Credit to empower people back to work and to build the SMEs of the future.
